Produced and written by Otis Redding and recorded on his own short lived Jotis label, The Sloopy, though not issued in the UK until 1972, was, for many fans of Soul music, in London at least, a seriously 'in' record at the time of its release. Billy Young also recorded for Chess, Grotto, Joya, Mercury, Original Sound and Shout.
