Born Overton Vertis Wright, October 9, 1939, died November 16, 1980 age 41. He was a successful gospel singer having sung and recorded with gospel groups such as the Spirit of Memphis Quartet and the Sunset Travelers, then after treading the well worn path of Gospel to pop his first secular recording was That's How Strong My Love Is for Goldwax records in 1964.
