DARLIN' I LOVE YOU SO * WALLACE BROTHERS * SIMS 248 * USA

A more up-tempo track than usually associated with the Wallace Brothers, Darlin' I Love You So was the sixth of nine releases by the group on the Sims label. The 'brothers' were cousins, predominantly, Ervin Wallace and Johnny Simon, and are said to have started out as a six peiece band, though this is sometimes questioned. Their first release was the gospel inspired Faith on Royal, after which they moved to Sims where two more Gospel style songs: Precious Words and Lovers Prayer brought them to the attention of British Soul fans.  Originally based in Los Angeles as a Country label Sims Records was started in the early 1950s by Russell Sims, after he relocated to Nashville in the 1960s he started to record black acts, in Gospel, R&B and Soul.
