DREAMS * THE VOLUME'S * CHEX 1002 * USA

A Doo Wop style ballad that contains much of the Soul sound soon to predominate on the music of  America, courtesy of Eddie Union's Soulful voice and a sweet saxophone. The Volumes were: Eddie Union, Elijah "Teenie" Davies, Larry Wright, Joe Truvillion and Ernest Newson, the group all came from Detroit, Michigan, I Love You / Dreams was their first release, of only two, on Willie Ewing's Detriot based Chex label. There are three different pressings of the above, the first credits The Valumes !, the second is like the one pictured here only without the legend "Dist Nat'l By Jay Gee" on the label. It was the A side I Love You of this record that went to # 22 on the Bilboard charts in April 1962.
