CRAZEY FEELINGS * ETTA JAMES * KENT * JA
although it is credited to Donna Hightower it is most probably Etta James originally issued on Modern 962 as a B side of Good Rockin' Daddy. Donna Hightower was also known as "Little" Donna Hightower, and as I am unable to trace this one, it doesn't seem to have been issued on either RPM, Modern or Kent, this copy is a Jamaican bootleg, which could mean that if it is by her it has a 'given' title. Because of the rivalry amongst the Sound Systems in Jamaica during the 1950s, the identity of many imported records were kept secret, the audience would invariably substitute a given name as a means of identification and reference. To this day many older West Indians still refer to tunes from the 1950s by their given name instead of the original title, which, in many cases, it would follow they would never have known.
