In Jamaica around the turn of the last century the saying was: Fus' laugh no laugh, a las' laugh a de laugh. Another old Jamaican proverb ran: Man laugh too much him get "wha's matter?" Even for Rock Steady this gorgeous cut is laid back, some great lyrics too; those old proverbs always seem somehow poignant when set to music Jamaican styleee.
