I SING UM THE WAY I FEEL * J B LENOIR AND HIS AFRICAN HUNCH RHYTHM * SUE 339 * UK

Born Monticello, Mississippi 1929, died Campaign, Illinois 1967. The above was recorded in Chicago with Lenoir on vocals and guitar, and Jarrett Gibson, tenor; Layfayette Leake, piano; Milton Rector, base; Willie Smith, drums, 'Peeples', bongo, and issued on USA 744. While he had been cutting records since 1952, sadly this was the first to be issued in England, although he toured Europe and performed in 1965 with the American Folk Blues Festival in England.
