A Lloyd Charmers a.k.a. Lloyd Tyrell, production, Lloyd was born Kingston, Jamaica in 1938. As the duo The Charmers, with Roy Willis, his first sessions were at Studio One in 1962 resulting with songs like Splish Splash and Crying Over You.  The due then  recorded for Prince Buster while Lloyd was also recording solo at this time. The partnership finally splitting in the late sixties when Charmers joined forces with Slim Smith and Jimmy Riley, as the Uniques, recording such mighty classics as My Conversation, and the Curtis Mayfeild inspired Gypsy Woman, for producer Bunnie Lee. After leaving the Uniques Charmers released some slack records like Censored which were credited to Lloydie and the Lowbites. He also recorded with  Ken Boothe, B.B. Seaton and Busty Brown, as the Messengers, and, possibly his most well known group, the Hippy Boys, whom he also produced. As a producer Lloyd released records on his Splash, Charmers, and Tramp labels in Jamaica. The above was also the second release on the Song Bird label in the UK, but with a different B side.
