LEMON TREE * THE GAYLADS & THE WAILERS * BLANK * UK

I have known for some time, I think I found out from Roger Dalke, that this cut of Lemon Tree was by The Gaylads and The Wailers, though I was never sure, but now thanks to the marvels of the internet and the dedication of some fans of the music, so much is being classified, it seems certain now that that's who it's by. What was always certain is that it was a Studio 1 production because of the CS in the matrix (stamped) DIR CS 2002 B 1H, but I knew no more than that. The fact that it once had a push-out center, the anti-slip ridges around the edge of the label and the stamped matrix tells me it was a British pressing, and the DIR points towards a Rio release as does the three prongs of the missing center, though because of the CS it was more likely meant to be a (blue) Coxsone issue, yet, blue Coxsone's had four prong centers and a less well defined matrix stamp, also the number (2002) fits neither, so though it was probably cued up for release but never got an official issue it is still a bit of an anomaly. The next side was easier to check as I already had  it on a Blue Coxsone (in an inferior mix in my opinion).
