Written by Ellie Greenwich, Jeff Barry and Phil Spector, and released in July 1963 Be My Baby was an instant hit reach #2 on the American charts and #4 on the British charts; it has since been called by Brian Wilson, of The Beach Boys, "The most perfect Pop record of all time"
The Ronettes were - Veronica Bennett, Estelle Bennett and Nedra Talley - first for Phil Spector's Phillies label USA # 116, they had previously had five records released, two on May three on Colpix; the first two, one each on May and Colpix, as by Ronnie and The Relatives.
