WHEN YOU'RE YOUNG AND IN LOVE * RUBY AND THE ROMANTICS * LONDON 9935 * UK

Written by Van McCoy and released on Kapp Records USA, this was Ruby and the Romantics seventh release on the label, and laid down the template for a succession of cover versions and sound-alike songs, most of which were in the so called middle of the road style, which have unfortunately, and understandably, tended to create a kind of retrospective aversion to these originals. The group went on to have another seven singles released on Kapp, until they moved to ABC in 1967.
