Slim Smith's cover of the Impressions Grow Closer Together is another one of those excellent Soul to Reggae transformations that work so well. Produced by Bunnie Lee the song is a near verbatim copy of Curtis Mayfield's original lyrics, which makes the writers credit on this record given to F. Lloyd, and not the usual 'adapted' or even 'B. Lee', such a mystery.
