Phyllis Dillon only recorded for Duke Reid, her Perfidia rates, for me, as one of the all time best Rock Steady tracks. In the style of her voice she owes, certainly on this track, something to Dionne Warwick, yet it is sweeter and has slightly more emotional depth. The song is adapted from the 1961 Shirelles cut A Thing Of The Past.
